ABOUT YOUR GUIDE:
Ian, whose passion lies in mushrooms, has an avid interest in the fascinating kingdom of Fungi. When he mentions his enthusiasm for mushrooms, many people automatically assume he is referring to the psychedelic variety, which indeed holds a significant place in his life and has sparked a broader interest in the subject.
However, Ian's focus has shifted to the abundant array of wild mushrooms found in the Colorado region. These encompass a wide range, from choice edibles to toxic or even deadly species, including psychoactive ones. Recently, he was granted the opportunity to collaborate with another amateur mycologist to undertake the essential task of cataloging all visible mushroom species across various environments in Boulder County.

Taking an active role, Ian, along with a select group of mycologists and renowned Colorado mushroom experts, contributed significantly to the creation of an identification book specifically centered around edible mushrooms in the southern Rocky Mountain region. The book is currently in the process of being published by Falcon and is scheduled for release this year.
Notably, Ian obtained certification from the CDPHE (Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment) as a wild mushroom expert identifier, a certification that also serves as a food handling license. With this endorsement, Ian aims to share his knowledge genuinely and effectively, ensuring that readers can learn from the valuable information he provides.
